With the increasing craze of cartoons among children of all ages, several youth oriented channels have been launched. Historical Background of the Disney Channel
At seven in the morning on the 18th of April in the year 1983, the Disney Channel was officially launched with its first show being that of ‘Good Morning Mickey’. The earliest months found the channel being aired for sixteen hours which was extended into eighteen hours after the first year. The latter part of the year 1986 saw the channel being broadcast for full twenty- four hours. The channel underwent remodeling in 2002. The program blocks were shuffled- some were scrapped altogether, some attained a new name and new ones were incorporated. The diversity of the shows enables even adults to watch Disney TV USA.

The programming blocks in this channel have undergone severe changes over the years. Currently, shows like ‘Hannah Montana’, ‘The Suite Life of Jack and Cody’, ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’, ‘Good Luck Charlie’, ’Sonny With A Chance’ and many others are stealing the center stage.
