The exciting new Microsoft Windows Vista
Paving Way For Modern Day Computing

With the evolution of Microsoft Windows Vista, the way we compute changed forever as this new OS from Microsoft brought about massive changes in general performance and visual levels. You no more had to be contended with your 16bit historical graphics system or being worried about security. Windows Vista incorporates the latest 32bit display system that can display wide array of colors vividly. Although there was nothing wrong with the previous Windows version, the Windows XP professional, but the system was quite simple and at times blunt to look at besides being notoriously susceptible to virus attacks. With Vista, Microsoft changes all of that as Vista slots in significant amount of styles and loads of security features to completely safeguard the system against all external threats.

Released in the year 2006, this revolutionary operating system packed in a new graphical user interface named ‘Aero’. At that time people were totally mesmerized with its graphical performance besides Vista also brought enhanced technologies such as NET Framework 3.0, peer-to-peer home networking for simplified file sharing and direct X 10. Although security wise the operating system came with a preinstalled version of Microsoft’s own antivirus system “Windows Defender”. But initially, the system needed loads of kernel tweaks in order to keep it safe from external attacks. However, performance wise Vista is quite sluggish as compared to Windows XP but that’s only due to the Aero. Users do have the option of switching off aero and other graphical enhancement settings in order to render performance.

Lately, Microsoft released the updated service pack of Windows Vista that greatly enhances Vista experience and adopts it to the newly released Windows Seven platform. Yes, you do find all necessary updates including the once found in service pack 1 besides, you also get the support for contemporary hardware, security updates, bug fixes, Wireless Bluetooth 2.1 technology support, exFAT support, use of UTC timestamps for synchronizations across various time zones, enhanced direct X 10, enhanced XP software compatibility, Wi-Fi performance improvements, special power management system for laptops, OS tune up, IT administrators to simplify administration and updated driver support for using contemporary USB appliances.

Multimedia wise Microsoft Windows Vista includes just about every computing frill you can possibly imagine. However, if you are an avid gamer then you should ideally opt for either Windows Seven or XP as somehow Vista doesn’t deliver the same gamming performance as the above operating systems. Nevertheless, unlike the Windows Seven, Vista is not resource hungry therefore you can expect serious performance gains especially on applications. With Microsoft lending free 24/7 assistance on all Windows Vista issues, there is no reason why you can optimize your highly customizable Windows Vista to suit your working style. Vista also provides users with a “Windows Update” option in order to get all the latest patches and hot fixes right on to your OS. These updates are vital in order for your computer to maintain performance and security at all times.

Microsoft Windows Vista, at the time of release was something truly revolutionary that pretty much carved out a new chapter for Microsoft.  There were oodles of graphical stuffs that were offered besides the innovative “Parental Control” was incorporated into Windows Vista that allowed parents to control and monitor pretty much every facet of their child activities and browsing behavioral patterns. The entire system was based on ratings therefore the child could only see those aspects that were allowed by their parents. To help browsing, in came Internet explorer 7 that offered “Dynamic protection system” which in normal terms meant higher security whilst browsing. Besides you could also open multiple websites simultaneously within a single window using “Tabbed Browsing”. Security wise Vista was quite a full proof system as it was designed to self tune itself to extract optimum performance and utmost security at all times. Windows Vista includes a next-gen “Schedule and Network Backup” system that helps in keeping your data safe by automatically scheduling backups at your desired system location.

The visual treat that Windows Vista provides is just unparallel and only the latest Windows Seven can match its prowess. The first aspect you will notice is the stunning “Windows 3D flip” functionality that lets your manage and browse through all your tasks with ease. Besides being visually brilliant you can seamlessly flip through multiple pages documents or folders from one window. However, what was good to see was Microsoft never stopped innovating Vista’s graphical system as quite recently the brilliant “Windows DreamScene” was introduced into Windows Vista. This one of a kind system allowed you to showcase any video of your choice right within your Widows desktop. Although it did eat up a fair bit of resource but this unique feature allowed Vista users to experience videos without even opening their Windows media player 11.

With Windows Vista, connectivity got a whole new meaning, as you could now connect PC’s seamlessly without going through oodles of setup processes like the once found in Windows XP. However, peer to peer security was beefed up along with wireless security. The newly integrated “Network and sharing center” gave away every possible information like connecting status, connected networks and even precise error messages that could be solved instantly by sending a message to the Microsoft help center. Another revolutionary system that Vista includes is the “Windows Sync center” that aids in administering data synchronization with other servers, PC’s and even standalone devices. You also have the “Windows Meeting Place” that will help you share all your large files and folders with people that are nearby.

With the market striving more towards entertainment, Microsoft had their work cut while designing this evolutionary operating system. Code named Windows Longhorn; Vista was primarily built for entertainment needs more than anything else. In Vista, you get the brand new “Windows Media Center” which is a first for any Windows operating system as it integrates all the necessary entertainment embellishments. You can now manage and enjoy HD videos, Hi-def music, your favorite TV shows along with all your digital media right over the Media center. Besides, Vista even allows you to expand your media center with an Xbox 360 console.
