iPhone4, the much talked about device is coming on Verizon network.
Verizon has passed every test and it will provide perfect user experience.
The 10th of February will mark a new chapter in US telecom
history. Well, you must be thinking itís another iPhone coming into the fray.
Well, not quite, itís even better news. In fact, itís the launch of the much
awaited iPhone 4 on Verizon network. The news comes in after years of ongoing
speculation. So whatís new on the spanking new iPhone 4 by Verizon? Well, the
differences are not much, itís just that Verizon doesnít drop calls unlike
AT&Tís iPhone 4.
Verizon have surprisingly offered the handset to few of their key clients for
testing purposes. According to what we hear, Verizonís iPhone 4 passed every
call test with flying colors. In fact some of the tests were conducted alongside
AT&Tís iPhone 4 in specific low signal zones. Where AT&Tís iPhone 4 dropped
calls on a repeated basis there was no such problems with Verizonís iPhone 4.
Looks like, Verizon have certainly got the ďDeath Grip issueĒ sorted out as
signal drops are few and far between.
As handsets, both AT&T and Verizon iPhoneís are quite identical on their
features. You get the same elegant metal-glass body. The same dazzling high res
retina display and even the same battery life. Camera is also the same old 5MP
auto focus optics, excellent for capturing HD videos. Although some expected the
Wi-Fi signal strength to come boasted on Verizonís iPhone 4 but thatís
definitely not the case. Itís pretty much on the same standards of AT&Tís iPhone
4. Users can look to take advantage of Appleís FaceTime software that
essentially allows high quality video chat over Wi-Fi networks.
Coming to the all important prices, surprisingly thatís also the same. The
16GB version will cost just about $200 on a 2 year contract. Contract specifics
include; unlimited voice calls for $70, $20 for 5000 free text messages and a
mere $30 per month for unlimited internet service. However, Verizon will
eventually abolish the unlimited plan and will adopt a $25/month for 2GBplan in
Then again, there is one exclusive feature that the new Verizon iPhone 4 will
carry, that is the possibility of turning your iPhone into a Wi-Fi base station
or Wi-Fi Hotspot. The handset will support up to 5 iPod Touches or laptops or
other Wi-Fi enabled gadgets to get online using the iPhone 4ís signal. However,
the feature drains out the iPhoneís battery pretty fast. To counter this problem
Apple has designed the iPhone to shut the hotspot within 90 seconds after your
connected gadget disconnects.
The special hot spot feature is all set to cost just about $20 per month and
will offer only 2GB of data. On the flip side, AT&Tís iPhone 4 will also be
acquiring the Hotspot feature on Feb. 13. Charges are expected to be $40 per
month on 4GB of data.
Even though Verizonís network is probably the best here in US but some of
their policies and pricings are simply dreadful. For example, in case you
accidentally press the up-arrow button, you will be billed $2. However,
considering everything, Verizon iPhone 4 is surely one of the best offering in
the market as it crucially offers phenomenal call quality which is probably the
primary concern for most Americans.
